Job Responsibilities

Enforce Massachusetts State Building Code, review building permit applications, conduct field inspections, investigate building code violations, respond to public inquiries about permits and codes, meet with contractors and architects for project reviews

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of experience in building construction supervision or zoning enforcement, certification as a Local Building Inspector in Massachusetts (or actively pursuing), valid driver’s license, Associate's Degree in a related field, equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of building construction materials and methods, Massachusetts State Building Code, local zoning bylaws, strong interpersonal skills, excellent customer service, public relations, knowledge of building safety requirements, fire prevention, field inspection practices
