About The Job

The Town of Eastham is actively seeking a highly qualified and dedicated full-time Inspector of Buildings to champion the enforcement and interpretation of the Massachusetts State Building Code, local zoning bylaws, and essential construction and safety regulations. Job Responsibilities

Lead the enforcement of building codes, Manage the permitting process, Conduct inspections for compliance, Issue occupancy certificates, Supervise Building Department personnel, Collaborate with community stakeholders, Ensure adherence to safety regulations, Provide technical guidance and support.

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma, vocational/technical training in building construction, 5+ years of experience supervising building construction or design, Valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license, Current Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License, Certification as an Inspector of Buildings, Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Preferred Skills

Massachusetts State Building Code expertise, Inspection techniques, Permit processing, Building construction knowledge, Leadership, Communication, Collaboration, Problem-solving, Knowledge of local zoning bylaws, Familiarity with construction safety regulations.
