Review and approve plans and specifications, Issue or deny building permits, Conduct field inspections for compliance with regulations, Inspect schools and commercial buildings as mandated, Address counter inquiries and assist with applications, Investigate complaints and represent findings before Town Boards or in court, Maintain accurate public records and reports, Collaborate with Town Departments and State officials, Perform other duties as required.

Minimum five years of experience in building construction supervision or design, OR a two-year associate's degree in a related field, Certification as a Local Inspector preferred, Proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel, Valid Class D driver's license and suitable vehicle, Experience with Viewpoint software preferred.
Plan reading and interpretation, Building code knowledge, Regulatory compliance, Strong communication skills, Tactful public interaction, Problem-solving abilities, Familiarity with Massachusetts State Building Code, Zoning bylaw enforcement.
