High School Diploma or equivalent, Five years of experience in the construction industry or a two-year degree in a related field, Current certification from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Local Inspector or Inspector of Buildings (or ability to obtain within 12 months), Valid Class D driver’s license, Suitable vehicle for transportation, Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Knowledge of building, accessibility, and zoning codes, Ability to prepare technical reports and maintain records, Proficiency in conducting inspections, Strong communication abilities, Capacity to develop effective working relationships, Ability to enforce codes impartially and fairly, Familiarity with construction practices and regulations, Understanding of safety implications in building inspections.
