Administer and enforce building codes, architectural regulations, zoning bylaws, and decisions from local Boards, Review applications and plans, ensure completeness, issue permits and certificates, and conduct inspections, Inspect local businesses, childcare facilities, schools, nursing homes, and hospitals annually, advise the Select Board on license renewals, Conduct housing inspections in collaboration with the Board of Health, Assist the public in resolving construction and zoning issues, provide guidance to owners, contractors, and tradespeople for compliance, Conduct inspections, issue Certificates of Occupancy, and document all inspections, Follow up with contractors or residents for required inspections, manage scheduling for building, electrical, and plumbing inspections, Lead special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned, Maintain regular attendance at the workplace.

Five years of experience in supervising building construction or design, Associate’s degree in building design or related field, Ability to obtain Massachusetts Local Inspector certification within 18 months of hire, Valid motor vehicle operator’s license, Experience with municipal building codes and regulations.
Comprehensive knowledge of building construction standards, fire prevention, and safety regulations, Familiarity with local and state building inspection laws, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities, Ability to interpret and explain complex regulations and codes.
