Mass. adopts NFPA 25 recall sprinkler heads (Section 13.3.3.2)

Massachusetts will require building owners to identify and replace recalled sprinkler heads as part of the annual inspection program. The change, adopted under Section 13.3.3.2 and aligning with NFPA 25 Section 5.2.5, directs owners to review recall lists, notify local fire departments of any recalls, and replace recalled heads promptly. The measure is expected to take effect in early 2027. Owners should verify their sprinkler inventory against recall notices linked by manufacturers.
